About Franciscan Alliance Foundation – Western Indiana

“Continuing Christ’s Ministry in our Franciscan Tradition” by raising and expending funds to support the programs and services of Franciscan Alliance, Inc. is the overarching purpose of Franciscan Alliance Foundation.

On December 14, 1875, six Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration arrived in Lafayette from Germany and began living out a mission to provide for the needs of the sick and disenfranchised in Lafayette, Indiana. With help from St. Boniface Church and the community, the Sisters secured their first building that served as both convent and hospital. Three weeks after their arrival, on January 3, 1876, the Sisters admitted their first patient and have continued to care for the community until this very day.

Fast forward to today - Area residents are still working with us at Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health in Lafayette, Crawfordsville, and Rensselaer to provide services and care for all who come to our facilities. Supporting our work can be simple. Here are just a few examples:
